Visa Requirements
All applicants must submit the following:
Tourist Visa
- Completed Two Original Visa Application forms;
- Valid passport with at least Six (6) months validity from the returning date of entry and at least Three (3) or more blank pages;
- Two (2) colored identical passport photographs;
- Copy of round trip ticket or itinerary indicating your trip in and out of Namibia;
- Applicants must have (a) a return ticket; (b) adequate funds for the duration of their stay in Namibia; (c) proof that they will be supported by a person who is permanent resident of Namibia or is Namibian if such a case applies; (d) letter of invitation or business contacts in Namibia are required for a business visa.
- Visitors with tourist visas are not allowed to engage in any employment while in the country. Should they wish to do so, they should apply for an employment permit in their country of residence prior to entry in Namibia.
- Copy of residence permit for residence of Benelux
- If accompanied by spouse, copy of marriage certificate is required
- If accompanied by miners, full birth certificates are required
- A flight tickets are required upon collection the visa
- Health requirements: yellow fever inoculation is a requirement only if the journey to Namibia entails passing through a yellow fever area of Africa by any other means than by a scheduled air service.
Who need a business Visa?
All visitors travelling to Namibia for business purposes need a Visa prior to travel. The business visa in Namibia is defined as the Visa issued to people looking for:
- Prospects to set up formal business in Namibia
- Exploratory or fact-finding business missions
- Business people attending meetings at subsidiaries of their parent companies
- Official government visits
- Attending conferences, corporate events (not work) and meetings for which no remuneration is received
- Charities, voluntary and expedition missions
- Attending short training courses (not more than 90 days), sports events, expositions and trade fairs
Business Visa
- Completed Two Original Visa Application forms;
- Valid passport with at least Six (6) months validity from the returning date of entry and at least Three (3) or more blank pages;
- Two (2) colored identical passport photographs;
- Copy of round trip ticket or itinerary indicating your trip in and out of Namibia;
- A flight tickets are required upon collection the visa
- Applicants must have (a) a return ticket; (b) adequate funds for the duration of their stay in Namibia; (c) proof that they will be supported by a Namibian permanent resident holder or by Namibian;
- Original Invitation letter from Namibian Company stating the nature of your business.
- Copy of residence permit for residence of Benelux if applicant is not a Belgium.
- Health requirements: yellow fever inoculation is a requirement only if the journey to Namibia entails passing through a yellow fever area of Africa by any other means than by a scheduled air service.
Note that the processing time for visa applications is 5 working days. Incomplete forms and requirements may delay the process. Visa Applications should be submitted between 09:00 and 13:00.
Diplomatic, Service, or Official Passports
- Completed Two Original Visa Application forms;
- Valid passport with at least Six (6) months validity from the returning date of entry and at least Three (3) or more blank pages;
- Two (2) colored passport photographs;
- An official letter from the applicant’s Diplomatic Mission/Organisation. This “Note Verbale” should state the full identity of the visa applicant and the grounds for him/ her holding a diplomatic/ official passport (position within the diplomatic Mission or family links with an official), the full details of the travel document, and finally the purposes and dates of the stay in Namibia;
- If accompanied by spouse, copy of marriage certificate is required
- If accompanied by miners, full birth certificates are required
- Visa is issued at no cost.
Single and Multiple Entry Visas
The maximum of ninety (90) days per year for both leisure and business visit may be taken once or in part. The multiple entry visas will be granted on the basis of reasonable ground such as for those applicants who wish to re-enter Namibia for further tourism purpose, or in case of visit for business purpose (business visa).
Exclusions
- Traders and street vendors
- Voluntary workers
- People hired and remunerated in their countries but performing works in Namibia
All persons falling under the above exclusions should apply for work and other
relevant visas and permits irrespective of whether their countries have a Visa Abolition
Agreement with Namibia.
